Pick my bass!

Ok currently i have an old setup i bought way back when i lived in tokyo, so its about 6 years old now and while it works i feel its time for some upgrading. Currently i have a pioneer 10" in a gianormous bandpass box thats eating up all the space in my 04 Civic si hatch. Its running on a 250w RF bestbuy special thats about 3 years old(the one i had in tokyo blew on me) and i'd like to replace it at this time too.

so heres what i was thinking. 1 12" in a sealed box(to reclaim some space!) and somewhere around 350w amp. Now the last time i bought or did any research into this stuff was 6 years ago, so i am not really sure whats crap.

looking to spend MAX of 300USD on this. cash is a little tight right now, with all the stuff i been buying for my indash custom carpc...

hmmm that looks like a pretty nice sub. looks like they say its designed for a small box application which is important to me, so it seems a good option.

anyone have a 'OH NOES TAHT SUBBB ES TEH SUXOR!!11one' reason not to buy?

ok seems a good rec on the sub, anyone have suggestions for an amp to go with it? also there are 2 version of that sub, dual voice coild and quad voice coils; guess i thought a 'voice coil' was just a low pass filter built into the sub to cut out any high freq coming from the HU. why would you need more than one let alone 4?

Regularjoe is on a distinguished road
Crossovers cut out freq.

Voice coils give more wiring options.

Another sub you can look into is the Adire Audio Shiva. They work perfectly in about 1.6 Ft^3, sealed, and I have it running off 150 watts rms, and it sounds great. You should be able to find a decent 300 watt amp for less than $150.

adires are excellent subs
and do you mean im pretty sure it means dual 4 ohm voice coils
you only see 4 voice coils on like 18 inch subs or high end 15's

my buddy has a dual 4 ohm kv2 running on a MTX 6500D amp and the sub is getting around 600 watts rms

Shiva off a JBL BP power amp you'll stay under your price amount, with wiring and box. Probably the best budget setup that I've ever heard, and other members here can testify of this setup as well, as there are several running it.
