Not getting any sound.

I just installed a stereo in a '95 Grand Am GT....there's no sound. I tried running the ground directly to the chassis, nothing. Ran a second ground, nothing. Cut the ground completely, still nothing, but the stereo still works. WTH is going on here? If anybody knows what's up, let me know...

Well are the speaker wires okay? Sometimes there's a loose connection in the harness. If the deck has power, the grounds are fine. So it must be speakers. Maybe check fuses, but doubt it. Is the volume turned up

That's the thing, the deck has power without a ground! The speakers are fine, the wires are all crimped really tight....and the volume's maxed. No sound at all.

darklegacy540 is on a distinguished road
Go over your connections with your speaker wires again, are you using an amp to your speakers? If so, check your signal outputs/inputs, Check the resistance in the speaker wires, Check the connections to the speakers themselves.. if you still have nothing, it could be something internally like a blown transistor

I bought a Clarion unit one time, and it worked for a day, then the sound just stopped completely, yet the unit still had power. You can test the speaker outs if you have a small speaker laying around. When I tested mine, I still got no sound, and I came to the conclusion that the unit was a piece of crap...hope that's not the case for you
