My indash TV
Maybe I am having difficulty posting pics. The pictures is at: http://ixtangxi.t35.com/dash.jpg . Can someone please take it off there and post it here. I a aving trouble with it.
I just put my monitor in my car that I did months ago in basically the same way as yours and the only time i have problems view it is when the sun shines directly on it. Other than that it is great. TanG check out my thread.
I assume it will perform superbly well in the twilight, and indirect lighting, such as an overcast day or fog, conditions such as this. I am specifically interested in three specific conditions:
direct light in front of you, such that the normal standard course of action is to put down the sun visor.
direct light to the side, such that you could put the visor to the side to aid driving, but basically any situation with direct sunlight pouring in the side.
direct light coming from behind.
ive had issues with the first two myself, im curious if an in dash installation might help correct that.

Yea I am having problems with the sun. My screen is not very bright as it is so this installation dosent help. I am going to upgrade to a lilliput and maybe make a visor type thing over the screen. Any suggestions???
The only time i have problems is when the sun shine on it, like you know, part of the dash is in a shadow and part is in direct sunlight. Kinda like a flashlight effect. my screen is pretty bright and the viewing angle is like 35 deg in the vertical. It does not happen that often. I have not been in my car yet during sunset and driving east. That might suck. I am sure my window tint helps a little. Bottom line is no screen is going to be visible in direct sunlight.

i tried to install a 7 inch screen flush mount like that. it looks real nice but i really think its bad for viewing. The glare and colors on mines were washed out. colors like black were not viewed correctly at the flush angle. Its even worse if your short sitting up front or short AND sitting in the back. I angled my screen so that its as flat as it can go. (like how a flatscreen tv would be on a wall). The viewing angle is MUCh better. Its not as flush, but im sure someone (not me. lol) can bondo it up really nicely.

Have any pics of that? My screen is going and I am going to get a new one and i need new ideas. Also try bondoing it yourself. This was my first project and I already feel like an expert at it. If you need any advice PM me.
yo, ryan, take some chicken wire, and mold a thin visor around the top to make it fit flush down to the sides, then add some f.g. resin around it and then sand it down, add some more f.g. and then glass it to the actual center concel above the screen. i am assuming that this visor will help as long as it drops about 2.5 to 3 inches on the side of the screen. it shoudl not look that bad and should help. if u need any other ideas pm me or call me up
