I looked at the DIY! Follwed it step by step but I cant get the stock one to come out no matter how hard I try to push that sucker out.....
how much force do I really need????

I tried guys, my fingers are freakin hurting from pushing that metal bar...
yes, I did unbolt the 2 screws on that bar 1st, and tried pushing on the one thats slightly above it

the only other thing I can get to is the little tray thing below the HU.....
and I can only push from my wrist and fingers......... this sucks..... = (

what i do is take my fingernails and grab from the top of the black dash part. sorta near the emergency light button. when you pull it from there do a quick tug. get as much torque as you can that way you dont break it. i do that all the time. if that dont work then get the widest flathead screwdriver or thin edge and put it between the plastic part and your dash. then twist and that should do it as well.
get a large flat head screwdriver - wrap some tape around it and use it to *gently* pry out the whole center console. It will come out and if you're careful you wont' lose any of the clips...they do have a tendency if forced to pop loose and fall into the dash area.

thats where the clips are located.. so you know what yer up against.. the screwdriver method is by far the best..
