reversing your subs
i have a type r that i want to reverse so that the fromt of the sub is facing in the box. do i need to add anything or will the foam around the sub, by all the screw holes hold it in place. the box is sealed and therefore the sub will be completly on one side of the box. would i make it pump out still in the same direction or reverse the pump aswell. thanks

ya i have it on my deck too. i want to do it so that i can put my box where my spare is and so it looks like the sub is comin outta the floor backwards. it looks sweet. just wasnts sure if it was risky or if the sub needed somethin else to seal it.
i used to do this by turning my subs so its faces the front of the car. i left the backseat down and way too many poor @ss ppl keep jocking my ****. so i just left it facing the trunk so it doesnt attract ppls eyes
i think you wouldn't get as much SPL if u face it front?

we call it "invert mounting" the subwoofer. 9 times out of 10, the gasket foam is fine to seal it agasint the box, but if you hear any leaks, youll have to go invest in some gorilla snot, hot glue, or weather stripping.
no worries about inverting the phase (positive negative or negative positive.) Thats something you play with when tuning the amplifiers, to go with whichever phase sounds best in the car to you. so you dont need ot run it one way or the other, but rather which ever of either way sounds best.
