I have a choice between Crime stopper and DEI to add to me factory alarm still using my factory remote. The crime stopper has dual shock sensor, started kill, front and rear pins, and siren. The DEI has the same except starter kill. The guy at the shop said starter kill really don't matter since 04's have the security chip in the key. I can get them both for about $150 installed. Does anyone have any opinions on the alarms.

Just curious, are you gonna add a 2 way pager?

ya didnt mention one and I really encourage you to get one, sirens are useless unless you know to get to your car and see whats happening when they are going off, and often times, ya cant hear them go off. So id get one if i were you

I heard since its the add on alarm to the factory, you can not get one, but I need to check on it and see if that is true.

yep. if a theif wants you car bad enough... they are going to get it, no matter what alarm you have.

I am not really worried about the car getting stollen, thats what insurance is for, just so if someone is messing with it outside my apt, I can hear the siren and horn go off.

Very true.. although, you can add other anti-theft features to an alarm, most alarms come with a starter kill.. but if you add an ignition kill, and a fuel pump kill.. after the theif has realized he has to go through a bunch of things to get the car running, he will just move on and not d1ck around with it because it would take too much time..

Yeah hell go to another car but the dammage will have been done to yours when hes trying to cut this and that to get it started....

BTW I remember a friend of mine who had 2 sirens and connected an amp to them or something ha ran the wires in a way that they could not be cut and had an extra backup battery so even if they disconected the main Bat the reserve one was still on....

Best alarm is a trained K9 or a 300lb naked fat chick in the front seat. Put either one of these in your car and no one will f*ck with it.
