What is infinite baffle?
basically free air
where you have a baffel that completely seperates the front of the speaker from the back but there is no box
think of a board where your backs are....and just the magnet of the sub in the trunk...
thats IB.

If you just say put a speaker in the stock rear locations with the front firing into the cabin and the rear into the trunk that is not infinite baffel. You still have air passing from the front to the back. Also the volume of space has to be very large. I forget the figure but someone once told me a number and that number was larger than the size of our trunk. From what I hear its a real pain to do infinite baffle as it takes a lot of work.

think of a sealed box. its really small. so theres LOTS of air pressure holding the cone in place. now make the box a tiny bit bigger. less pressure, but still theres some box effect. well, sooner or later, your sealed box (but it IS still a sealed box!) will be so big it no longer have an effect on cone movement. thats sealed. our trunks are 12 cubes. plenty big for IB. but our rear decks are like colanders. so for a true IB enclosure the rear deck has to be sealed. if the trunk vents to outside, thats fine, as long as it doesnt vent to the cabin.
my favorite is that exact same install, except its a 1 cubic foot box with four shiva (one per side and a solid top) installed in the ceiling directly over the TV.
it just looks like a heater vent directly over the TV
