Question about what amp to get for my subs

Alright, I'm about to order two Rockford Fosgate Punch 12" 1000 Watt Dual 2 Ohm Subwoofers that have 500 RMS. Now I'm not sure how many watts for an amp I'm going to need. Im thinking I'll need 2 channel amp with over 1000 watts since both will add up to that. Any help would be appreciated. Also, any recommendations on brands would be helpful. Right now I was looking at Legacy.

Get a 1 channel amp (mono) that puts out at LEAST 1000wrms, the subs can handle a litltle more if you are looking at a certain amp that is a bit bigger. As far as Legacy goes, I would avoid them with everything I got... the quality just isn't there. Try looking at Rockford for an amp so that everything matches up. The T1001BD would be a nice amp for you

Power Acoustik works great for me...its a 2 channel and it puts out 1200 watts RMS and 2 ohm. It runs my 2 volfenhag dual voice 1000 watt 500 RMS subs so I think you will be fine. Just get a fan cuz it gets hot, never had it over heat tho and I use it alot.
