i know have 1 12" sub, if i get 2 subs instead of one, and hook them up to the same amp, would i pushing twice the power, or would the total poer of the amp be shared on both subs.

i have a mono, sony 800w amp. It probebly pushed like 300 RMS, so if i hook up 2 subs to it, will it push 300 watts to each sub, or 150 to each one ?

You would share the power between them, 150 watts each. You'll need to look at your impedence load after as well.
