Sub problem!

I have a MTX Thunder8302 bridged powering an Infinity Kappa Prefect 12.1 and for some reason I'm gotting a buzz from the center of the sub. It sounds like the sub is hitting something behind it like a wire only there's no wire or anything I can actually see from the outside of the sub. Any ideas?

It's either Lead Slap, cone noise or distortion from not setting the amp right.

If it's lead slap, some people have found a solution in putting the soft side of stick-on velcro on the inside part of the cone between the tinsel lead and the cone. Cone noise you cant do anything about. Distortion...well...turn your gain down.

I'm welling to bet it's lead slap though.

Well, the thing is, is that it buzzes at very low volumes so I know it's not the gain. I was told that it could possibly be a bad ground, which is weird cause my ground seemed ok before I got the new amp (the MTX) but maybe I didn't notice the buzz... It seems like the buzzing is coming from where the magnit is.

sounds like a broken tinsel lead. Remove the subs and check the small wires that connect the terminals to the voice coil. They should be attached to the cone or spider. If they are swaying in the wind, grab some solder and attach them to the backside of the terminals, but be sure you have enough length to allow for max excursion of the cone.
