New amp on it's way :D
Well after some long deliberation and much soul searching, I decided to get a PG Tantrum 1200.1 with the money I got from selling my RF 1001BD. After all is said and done it will be almost a direct trade, so that's a pretty good deal.
1400wrms should do me quite nicely, once it is all set up properly it is gonna scream.
I was gonna go with a PG Octane-R 15.0:1 but it didn't really appeal to me, the Xenon was too expensive, so the Tantrum, although it's last years model seemed like a good choice
Payment was sent last night, amp is in Texas right now getting shipped to Bellingham, WA then I will cross the border and pick it up.
I am just counting the minutes until it arrives
I've got a lot of experience with these particular amps so it will definitely be going at its full potential.
Pics will be up as soon as I get it.

What made you motivated to buy a Tantrum 1200.1

They are rock solid. I would love a Xenon but I've vageuly heard stories that they have blown up on people, and they are just too expensive.
Tantrum 1200.1's are tried and true, I've seen what they can do and I have a buddy who knows these amps very very very well

It is funny how you always have great deals on stuff After someone buys something.
...like when I bought my kicks, you said should have bought them from you.
...when I bought my Ti Elites, you said I should have got some QSDs from you

I wouldn't mind a 1501BD but I am trying to make everything in my system match... like all the same brand and stuff except for the deck of course.
Out of curiosity what did you want for it?

$300 shipped all day
i can also mod them to remove protection. one ohm operation and 18 volts from the batts for the real bass heads
i can get anything from rockford corp. that you need pretty much at any time...might have to wait on shipping (it would be ordered, shipped to me, then shipped to you) and pay AZ sales tax but anything you need can be had on any day

Good choice in amps . . . I've had problems with RF amps in the past but Phoenix Gold and Alpine amps have always been good to me. They're definately pricey but sometimes you get what you pay for (and sometimes you don't *cough* Audiobahn *cough*)

Well I just learned that the seller flaked out on me and I'm not getting the amp now.
He refunded my money but I lost about $20 due to the currency conversion (he's in the US and I'm in Canada).
I'm not happy. I gotta go find another amp now and I was hoping to have one ASAP.

check out the openbox items or referbed at http://www.sounddomain.com They have some great deals. I think the openbox ones even come with the original warranty. I picked up 2 idmax 12s for $240 each. I'm sure they have similar deals for amps.
