Is it easy to REMOVE an alarm thats installed in your car? I know where everything is like the brain and where the harness is run, but what about physically removing it and cutting out the wires?
I have a Compustar 2WSS-AS that hasn't been working right for the last 6 months and its just sitting there in my car not being used. Im selling my car on Sunday and would like to remove it if it isn't too difficult.
Do I just cut all the wires out from the alarm harness?
Thanks!

Rep Power: 0 Oh yeah, and I remember that there was a wiring guide floating around for the 7thgens that helped out people with installing their own alarms, does anyone know where that is by chance?

u whould be ok taking an alarm out, just check out the starter wire...if you alarm has a starter-kill you might have to solder the starter wire back together

Rep Power: 270 hey prashant here are some tools you will need that can REALLY help you in.....
get a sledge hammer, a zippo lighter, some zippo lighter fluid(gasoline would be fine also) and take the sledge hammer to your curry rocket to go up the trunk through the interior and through the motor. then pour some zippo lighter fluid into the interior of the car....spark the zippo light and light it and drop it inside your car.....and watch the fireworks go.

Rep Power: 267 my adivce is message "cloppy", he installed my alarm and knows EVERYTHING about compustar alarms, hes an authorized dealer.
Why not take it back to the place who installed it, cuz those alarms have a lifetime warranty from what i know. or tell the guy whos buying it from you that you left it connected and for like 50 or 100 bucks he can probably get it fixed and have it working again if he goes to a place that does compustars regularly.
Sorry i aint answering your question but just thought id throw that idea in the air if it hadnt already crossed your mind.

Rep Power: 267 Just leave it on and let him pay to have it redone man. He'll be thankful cuz the way he sees it is, "50 bucks to pay for getting it fixed and i got a sick compustar". if it aint gonna be useful to you then let him enjoy it, thatd be my theory
