PreOuts vs. amp inputs (this won't be a problem, right?)
Ok, so I ordered the Pioneer DEH-P8600 because it had 4V preouts. My amp can take a max of 5V input. I get my head unit today and they sent me the Premier version instead. Oops. The Premier version has 6.5V Preouts instead, which is specifically why I ordered the non-Premier version in the first place.
So I called MTX (the company who makes my amp) and asked if this would be a problem. I said "my instruction manual for your amp says a max of 5V input, but this head unit I have puts out 6V." He said "the 6V is the max if you turn it up all the way. As long as you keep it below that you'll be fine."
Is that true?
I don't want to have to send this head unit back. Does PreOut voltage really vary with high you have the volume?
Thanks.

I am just glad that you did the homework on your amp and found out what the input sensitivity was, good work!
