cap wiring?
I have a 1.0 farad fosgate cap. When I wire it do I just run the power and ground in and out on the 2 screws on top with ring terminals and then into the amp, or can I ground it seperatly from the amp.I have never used a cap before but I want to avoid the dimming lights.

Ground the amp and cap with seperate wires but to the same grounding point. Run a power wire with ring terminal to the + on the cap and a wire from the cap + to the amp +.
You can also get a ring terminal slightly larger than your power wires, say your powers are 4awg, get a awg ring terminal and you can crimp both power in and out to the same ring terminal to the cap if you want.
Caps don't generally help with dimming lights for this problem you need to get a high powered altenator. A cap is designed to help keep the power of your amp running constant so your bass dosent bottom out.
