Building a passive highpass filter

Hi,

I'd like to build a passive highpass filter for my rears. I know (believe) all I have to do it put a capacitor on the + wire. However, I don't know which value.

I'd like a cutoff at 125hz (because I'm using stock rears and they suck... euh... suck rears )

Thanks for your help!

Here is the calculation...

1 / (2 x 3.14 x desired crossover frequency x speaker impedance)

Assuming your speaker ohms are 4, your answer is a 318.32 microfarad capacitor.

Great! Thanks for the formula! There's no way I would have figured it out by myself. I wanted a 6db filter!
