PG Ti Elite Comps
What does everyone think of the Phoenix Gold Ti Elite Components ? I have a set of these on order right now, and I am wondering if anyone else has heard these speakers? I have heard them before and I like them...but are worth the price for 1/2 off retail?
BTW, I would run them off of a PG Ti 600.2 that I already have in my car. I heard them running off of a JL 150.2, and they sounded nice.
I wonder if I would be better of going back with Quarts.
...I also read that their crossover sucks up about 25% of the power...but the crossover is awesome.

they are excellent speakers, I am waiting on a buddy to give me a free pair of Ti Elite 6.25" woofers (downfall is no xover or tweeter).
The Ti 600.2 might be a bit extreme to power them, I have heard that they cannot handle loads of power, so something a little smaller might be better.
I've heard them before and they are stellar. Costly, but stellar. You can't do a lot better, the entire PG Ti Elite line is almost in a league of it's own, and right up there with Focal Utopia and could compete directly with Alpine's F#1 Status speakers.
Please PM me if you have any more questions about those or any other PG product and I will get some answers for you.

damn fonto, your taste is getting pricey...
but you could just get utopias for that price,
or dynaudio 340gt's
or jl zr's
or quart qsd's
or any esoteric set from ebay

The tweeters don't use grills. They kind of have a built in protection for the dome but its not a grill. Go to my webpage and blow up the picture with the tweeter in the door to see what it looks like. Its not a great picture but should give you an idea.
As far as power handling I think the component set is rated at 300W RMS. I currently am running about 400W RMS to each side. I have my set hooked up to a PPI PCX-2400 amp.

Lud, I am getting them for about 50% of what SD sells them for
T, Thanks for grill answer...I'm worried about putting them in the kicks now...maybe I can put them in the sails and reverse the polarity.

They were. I have removed them. I put the stock speakers back in to cover the hole but they aren't hooked up. I only run a front stage and subwoofers now.
I may use the 6s I removed for midbass up front but I'm not sure yet.

I had an idea if you wanted to put the tweets in a kick panel. The tweets have some protection on their own to prevent things from getting to the dome, but if you like you could just cover them with some grill cloth.
