I just had a ps2 installed where my glove box used to be and a 7 inch screen where the deck usually goes. I had my head unit moved down to where the cig lighter and storage area used to go and had my cig lighter moved. The **** looks sick if i do say so myself BUT the screen is usually off if nobody is playing the ps2 and it sucks cuz its like i spent all this money to see a blank screen. the deck i have is the new sony CDX 9900 which i used to play the ps2 before the screen was in. it has sick background graphics but its way low by the stick and cup holders. My question is:

is there anyway to get the graphics from the deck and display them not only on the deck but on the screen as well.
ANY SORT of info would help because im tired of staring at the blank screen in my dash

There are soem decks and processors that have graphical output that you could hook up to the deck. I don't know of any offhand but I know any DVD player would have that... or you could get the remote control for the PS2 and use that as your CD player unless you want MP3 or burned DVD capability

well the thing is the sound that comes from the ps2 sucks, you have to turn up the deck all the way. and even so, i want the graphics from the deck on the screen. I know the deck doesn't have an output. . .so i'm not sure how its going to work. but i really would do anything it takes to get the graphics from the deck to the LCD.

Get a DVD player that is the easiest way.

You can get high end decks that play DVD's but sitll look like regular decks. Something like that would suit you very well.

If you are having trouble hearing sound from your PS2, check to see if your deck has an AUX adjust.

My DVD player was always really quiet and one day I was looking thru my deck and I saw something called AUX ADJ (mine is a JVC) and I turned it up, and now I get lots of volume.

how would a DVD player help? I need the graphics from the deck on the screen . . .

yes because you wont be able to get the graphic output otherwise unless you get a high end deck which will be about the same cost as a DVD player anyway............ i would imagine ANY head unit with DVD capability has an OSD to allow you to play music, etc

high end deck? damn! lol, i paid almost 700 for the one i have. its the Sony CDX-M9905X. it doesn't have one of those motorized screens that some do but you can play the DVD or ps2 right on the small *** deck screen... but its so small that i had to get the 7 inch LCD put in the dash. now i just want the graphics from the deck display up on the monitor, just like a screen saver, so i can actually USE the monitor as a display not just for when someone is playing the ps2. check out the deck at http://www.xplodsony.com/action/demo.../tft_main.html

LOL, I'm kinda in the same boat as you. But I have an HKS CAMP unit hooked up to my LCD screen in Dash (Same area as you). I only use the screen for that, so it always shows all the analog gauges on the screen (analog gauges, graph displays, bar graphs of what your engine is doing, it monitor the internals) and it has a neat little aqarium mode that I leave on about 90 % of the time. The aquarium water color and fish health changes as you drive. I use it kinda as a screen saver when I'm not using the screen to do engine tuning.

DAMNIT!! just woke up and found my ps2 GONE How freakin gay is this. the whole reason i got the new set up is cuz my old pioneer deck and JBL system were stolen - like a month ago! URGHHHH. check this, they only took my ps2, not the screen, not the deck, not the cash on the seat, not the cd holder, not the Tommy watch just the ps2 and a half eaten bag of chips.
