Ok.... i gotta rockford fosgate power 550s running 2 12" HE2 rockford subs... .. it started to just go out every now and then... then i'd turn down the radio and it would eventually turn back on (the amp/subs)... now everytime i turn on the radio... i blow the fuse under the hood on the power wire of my amp... wut would be the cause of this? and how do i fix it? I was told that the amp might be bad and it might have blown... anyone else with any ideas as to why this is happening?

Check for short of the power wire first of all... The best place to look is at your amp to make sure that no strands of the power wire have come loose and are touching the ground terminal...
There should be no reason for them to blow other than a short or a problem with your amp itself, especially if it blows while it is not drawing any power.
Make sure your fuse under your hood matches the fusing at the amp or the fusing recommended by Rockford

well, i checked for breaks in the line... stuff where the power line would hit a ground and i didnt see anything that would do it. i know there was a 50A fuse in the holder when it originally blew.... now i was just trying a 60... i dont think going up would blow fuses, would it?... although there might be a problem with the amp, who knows.

Going up wouldn't blow fuses any quicker, but going down might becuase you have a better chance of drawing that amount of current.
The problem with going up is that you risk damage to your amplifier before the fuses blows and saves it

well... when i went up to a 60.. the fuses broken the second i turned the car on. I couldnt find any 50s where i was or i would've got those b/c that was originally in my fuse holder.
First off, don't use higher-than-rated fuses. Thats the best way to set your ride on fire or destroy something electrical. The fuse is rated at it's exact amperage to break current at exactly the limit of toleration for a power surge/spike. Putting a 60 where a 50 should go, will theoretically allow 59 amps of current to visit places that can only handle 50. Thats bad, mmmmmkay? Anyway, the first place you should look, should be your ground. Make sure your amp's ground is secure and getting good contact. Make sure that no power is touching the ground wire at all.
If you wan't to make sure the amp is the problem and not the wiring, you could always do one of the following:
If you have more than one amp in the car, switch the power and ground wires to your amp in question and see if it blows the fuse there.
If you don't have two amps, you could run a simple power wire with an inline fuse, outside of the vehicle from the battery to the amp and then a seperate ground wire from the ground to a definite sturdy ground, like a metal bolt or something and see if the fuse blows there too.
