MB Quart PSD216 problem help!!!

UGH!!!!!

i have the chance to possibly sell the PSDs and get 165k2's!!!

UGH.... i really like the PSDs a lot.... but it really lacks midbass....

what do u guys think i should do?

edit: decided i'm not gonna change em....

BUT NOW!!! my woofers on the quarts are making a pop sound everytime the bass hits at high volume.

165k2's have good midbass but the tweeter is harsh enough to make your ears want to bleed...it's up to you.

i think it could be my setup....

ugh.... for some reason the woofer on the psd will make a pop sound when the bass hits and high volume.

adjust your crossover, sell the 216's and get the 210s and the 164 midbass kit. my quarts will shake both side mirrors and the rear view a little on 2pac songs...only problem is they rattle the door pannels...

you mean the crossover on the amp??..... i've been fiddling with it all day.... its really pissin me off....

edit: the thing is, i'm not sure if i'm doing the right changes to the crossover on the amp. please help.

Either clipping, or your woofer is screwed in wrong and its twisting the cone. I did that with my PSD's when I first installed them.

when i had those speakers i set a high pass filter at about 100Hz and they didn't pop. those will take volume, but the woofers aren't big power eaters. or big on bass. i was never unhappy with those speakers and a sub though, had a small gap between bass and midbass, but it was worth it for the quart tweeters. glad to see you aren't gonna change them

Have you installed any sound deadoning in your door panels? I've got quart qm218's (he old Q series)....made a noticeable difference after i put 25 sq feet of fatmat in each of my doors.....remember the old saying....car stereo's are 10% product and 90% install.
