I don't like fosgate either. I went to listen to some of their subs one day and they sounded muddy and couldn't hit anything too low - and dynamics were horrible. I'm not sure how their speakers are but if they're anything like their new line of 'punch' and 'power' subs then I would stay away. I would invest in some good front components and then when you have the money go for rears. Rears aren't necessary as far as sound goes - they're really just fill speakers and will sound like crap once you put a sub in the trunk. The sub will make the rears vibrate when the sub vibrates and the rears won't ever really re-produce the sound intended. I have stock rears in right now and I have it faded to front about 85%.
Stop looking at what best buy and circuit city has to offer - you'll find a much better selection elsewhere

i have only used the subs from that line. four 8s off a bd1500. sounded good to me.
you cant tell how something sounds over the internet...i would go to at least 2 stores that will have them set up. when i worked retail, the JLs sounded like *** on the board but would scream in a car.

^^ I agree. The shop at the shop I work in, we sell JL, Eclipse, Coustic, MTX, and Pioneer Premier. In the sound rooms, the JLs sound do sound like @ss but in car, wow. I personally don't like rockford. I think their amplifiers are good but everything else I try to stay away from. Get the components.. JL and Boston Acoustics are my personal favorites but Alpines are good too. Work on the front, then the rear.

i like rockfords amps and subs, but there speakers arent all that great.
those that you listed are wierd as hell, as they have two sets of tweeters. i heard them before and they do get loud because of the extra tweeters, but they didnt sound too good.
do what the others have suggested, go out and listen to them at a local shop or something, try and see for yourself if they sound good.

rockfords are pretty nice...just don't go with the ones pictured....that is part of their puch series....don't go with any of their punch series stuff...that's the best buy/circuit city quality stuff....aka it blows....if going with rockford, i would pick their power series or if you can afford it, the type rf series....just don't go with the punch stuff...

Those speakers are heinous.... for the money u can get Alpine Type-S 6.5" components, part # SPS-171A, it will be super easy to install and sound great off head unit power
I just installed these in mine and thier running off a jbl amp with around 90 watts to the speakers and I think they sound great. You just have to put the tweeters within two inches of each other.I just replaced my alpine type r's because one of the tweeters all of a sudden just went out on me.

YOU REPLACED ALPINE TYPE R COMPONENTS FOR FOSGATE? WHAT? ARE YOU SMOKIN' SOMETHING...I'm sorry, it's just that it seems like a bad move from alpine type r components to fosgate....for a problem that was prob just to reattatch a wire on your crossovers....
