Clarion DXZ745MP - opinions?
I am considering getting a Clarion DXZ745MP. Can anybody comment on this deck, whether you have used it or not, etc?
Any good info will help, thanks

I love it, i do have it, it's nice a simple to use and very clean looking....make sure that you get the metra kit that lets you keep your pocket...it makes it look a lot cleaner...anway....only downside is it doesn't let you play with a lot of equalizer options...but still it's awesome...

I would think that full volume = full volume, and how they divide up the scale doesn't matter. If this is true, however, then a volume that only goes to 33 would have larger increments than one that goes up to 50 or 100. In other words, you might encounter a point where one setting is too low and the next setting is too loud.

I would think that would be especially true when running external amps, I know there are points that I have right now where my system won't pound at all and then I make maybe a small adjustment on my bass **** or go up a couple click in volume and WOW. I don't think the scale would be that bad on an internal amp, but if so I can deal with it anyways
yeah pretty much, but i'm lovin it...and the ejection of the cd is so much quicker than alpine decks...that's what i switched from and it took forever for it to eject, but now....the clarion is just a push of a button and its out in a second....rather than like 5

Okay, I ended up with a DXZ835MP, I'm not sure what to think yet, but I'm hoping for good things.
I heard it is slow to read MP3 CD's, anything like that with the 745?
Or DVnAFI, any weaknesses with that deck?

The 835 is last years model. Its friggin awesome. If you have stock speakers, dont you cant turn the volume past like 25. It'll start to sound like **** and youll get a ringing sound. Overall, its a good radio, just make sure and take it out when you leave because robbers just LOVE Clarions...It read MP3s fine. It does take a bit long to read the MP3s because the 835 reads the entire CD before it plays. Overall, its a good radio. The colors are cool! I had it on the constant change feature, so, it changed colors. Its a good radio dude!
