4" mid in the a-pillar, should i do it?...
thats my next venture, 3 way components up front. i'm thinking about just keeping the 6.5" in the stock location and the 1" tweet in the sail panel (stock location), but that 4" mid is tricky. a pillar looks to be the best spot for it, but i'm still unsure.
anyone else have 3 way components?

I don't think it would sound all that great with all the speakers spread out like that.
I would put all the speakers in the bottom of the door and kick panel to keep the distances of all the speakers on each side as close as possible, and work on manipulating the position of them to fire towards the center of your dash. You'll likely get better SQ that way than having speakers all over the place

the tweet and mid would be close together, and the midbass in the door, well, its only playing 200hz and under anyways, how off can it sound?
the other thing i can do is use a hex 4" mid and 1" tweet as front hi and the 6.5" as front low (my headunit has 2 set of pre outs for the front). in this case, i would have to get a 4 channel amp for power (or another 2 channel).
i really dont want to do kicks again, its no fun when you have no room to stretch your legs.
my headunit also has time alignment, that might help a bit i guess.

Time alignment helps
Are you looking to build for competition or just for personal amusement?
I think it will sound more than good enough for daily driving, but for competition you will probably want to look at putting your speakers close together.

Well considerign the distances of the rear side panels the rear deck might be a better choice for rear fill if you even want rear fill at all
