Installing HU
Ok now I've installed countless head units but I've yet to install one in an 04 civic. This is my girls car and its brand new so I was wondering what the easiest way to remove the stock HU. She'll kick my a$$ if I scratch or break anything on her dash.

What model is the car?
If it's an LX or EX, follow these instructions.
1. Remove the small ring from around the shifter.
2. Pull the larger grey piece around the shifter up by opening the cup holder lid, sticking your finger underneath this piece, and pull up. There is a hidden little indent for you to stick your fingers in. This piece can be tough to get out but it will prevail.
3. Take out a screw on each side right by the cupholders that will now be exposed by removal of the piece in the previous step. If you look close, you will see that these screws are used to secure in the horseshoe shaped piece that goes down the sides of your center console and also houses your cigarette lighter and 2 small little covers. Once these screws are out, pull out 2 clips on each side of this piece that are clipped into your center console, and then pull this piece towards the back of the car and up. Unplug the cigarette lighter.
4. Looking under the dash in the space that you just exposed, look up and you will see 2 screws/8mm bolts. Remove these bolts, and then put your hand behind the little bar that those bolts were in. You will probably feel 2 bars, one upper and one lower, put your fingers against the upper one, and push it out towards the back fo your car. The top bar that the screws were in is part of the piece you want to take out, so pushing it will pop the bottom of the CD player and heating control panel out.
5. Once the bottom is popped out, work your hadns up the sides popping out the rest of the clips, taking care not to lose any of these clips, because in my personal experience, these things pop off and fly away easily.
6. Disconnect various harnesses and the head unit and heating control panel will be free.
