Alpine CDA-7893 Won't play burned CD!!
I have Alpine CDA-7893 head unit, and i had them for almost 2 years now. I buy original CDs and burn them and play in my car, and since like begining of last month, the head unit won't read the burned CDs. When I put it in, "Error" sign comes on, but original CDs play without any problems. Anyone got an idea why my cd player won't read burned CDs anymore?
I had a Pioneer unit in my last car that eventually just gave up playing CDs altogether. However, it started by having problems with burned CDs. (So I would just play all my regular CDs... until those wouldn't play anymore either.)
I tried cleaning the laser, and that seemed to rejuvinate it for a bit. Maybe try that and see if it helps...

It's either dirty or the laser needs alignment, and in either case it will probably have to get sent out. It's not a finalized disk issue, because CD's that used to play in it don't anymore.
open it up and clean the lens with a q-tip....note taht it's not always the top side of the lens that is dirty though....dont bother with those cleaning cds....they only clean off large dust particles...most dirty lenses are usually small dust particles or sometimes cigarette resisidue
btw, you can order a new cd player assembly but it's gonna expensive...
