in regards to alpine components and more...
ok I hear people saying how they (type r's) won't fit in the doors and how u have to cut ****, but then u got peeps sayin their speakers went in no problem w/ the spacer...sooo who's talking ****???
and now for the other questions...the rear speakers, again for the alpine type r's, they'll hit the bar for the trunk and that u gotta do the shock mod...but then u got people who fit it in there no problem...again who's talking ****???
we all got the same car and they're all built the same, hopefully or honda gots some explaining toooo dooooo...sooooooo????
whats really good? LOL
in case this post sounds like its full of attitude its actually the other way around, Im saying it playfully!!!!

The 6x9's wont fit without the shocks in coupes, however in sedans with 6" speakers they will fit with no problem. The fronts should fit fine with a spacer, some cutting may be necessary depending on how big of a spacer you use, and if you were to use a 6.5 speaker or a 5 1/4 would also make a difference.
i agree, all the holes should be the same.......unless u are tlaking about a rear of a coupe and a sedan. BUT, there are some people that claim that the "square fits in the circle" w/o modifying it whats the dilly? I back on the market for a compent set and a nice set of 6x9's thinking about the apline type s 6x9's

So I would be inclined to say that installation for that is superhard, near impossible. other people would say that its cake.
some people are naturally inclined to be able to build things, are fearless around cars, have no problems cutting stuff that will enver be seen, have tools and the ability to modify the door frame, install baffles, put in speakers. these are the guys that will say its a snap to add in huge huge speakers into the door.
then you have people who are scared to remove the sail panels, much less pull apart the door and install a speaker, no matter how easy or hard.
so noone is full of it, it jsut depends on how install savvy the person is, or how fearful they are of the car.

ok when I said full of sh*t Im refering to specific things...for example, it the speaker magnet on the 6x9 are too big and hit the metal thing for the trunk then obviously you have to do the mod. Im talking about people saying **** wont fit but when u go and do it, it fits...that to me is sh*t talking, again with the front components either you have to cut or u dont....theres people saying u have to, there's people saying you dont...REGARDLESS of being "install savvy" or whatever, what Im refering to is about a yes or no, not a are u affraid of doing it or not...
what you said is very true but really has nothing to do with my original question/statement....

for type r 6x9's in the rear of a coupe, i'm sure you'll have to remove the trunk torsion bars...if you've seen a pic of a type r 6x9's w/ torsion bars still installed, it's prolly the guy who made his own torsion bars.
as for the front, as far as i know, you have do do some cutting to make the alpine type r 6.5" speaker fit

your question makes no sense. if someone said they ran 12's in a stock civic, then calling bs is understandable. but who the phluck lies about putting type r components in a car? seriously... i have a pair ready to install, they will be a breeze compared to some other speakers i've seen. and yes, i guarantee i won't be cutting

you could easily fit 4" speakers in teh door without any modification. maybe an ocasional 5.25.
no 6.5 will fit snugly wihtout a spacer or cutting metal or both.

ok wow....some of you really try to make arguments out of nothing...my questions was simple....do they fit yes or no....about the components up front, in my original post I did make mention of the spacers being used, I know that has to be done, but about the cutting, some people did some people didn't. So thats not an issue...
for the rear speakers, it was a matter of yes you need take out the torsion bars or no u don't...I was asking just that...the only reason why I even brought this up is cuz some people like to mod certain things when essentially its not "needed" (if u can even say that when it comes to cars), they mod cuz they like it, and thats cool cuz I do to...Im just trying to avoid doing the trunk mod, cuz Im gonna have to drill into the wheel well and I live in toronto, where in the winter we got salt trucks and ****, so I dont wanna risk rusting up my wheel well...

To install the Alpine 6x9's you have to remove the rear torsion bars. However, you do not have to drill the wheel wells for the shock DIY. Look for Grey's trunk shock DIY, it mounts to the rear deck instead of the wheel well.
In the front, you may or may not have to cut. Like I said, it depends on how big of a spacer you use...for instance, my speakers do not fit with a 1" spacer without cutting because the basket doesnt clear the hole, but if I use a 1 1/4" spacer they fit the door, but then they dont clear the door skin, so I have to shave those. If I were to use 5 1/4's instead of 7" then they would fit with a 1/2" spacer and no door skin trimming.
It's not that we are trying to argue or fight, it's just that there are variables to consider. To determine if you need to cut for the fronts you need to research what size Alpine speakers people put in, and what size spacer was used.

see thats what Im sayin...mystic3030, you got my question and you answered it perfectly...Im talking about other people...what u said was 100% helpful compared to somebody going on about people being comfortable with cutting sh*t.
about the 6x9's (alpine type r's) if I make a spacer myself u think I could get away with that???
oh yeah and about the drilling the wheel wells, I had seen somebody with it done like that, so I thought that was the diy everybody was using, but just before I read your post I saw the DIY that Grey did...

Okay so maybe I'm just blind, or something, which is entirely possible. But what is the model number on the Apline Type R 6.5s and 6x9s. I can't seem to exactly locate them and was wondering exactly what I should be looking for.
