Cheap System Setup?

hey everyone, I have an extra JL Audio 12w3 D4 laying around and I want to put a system in my sisters car. I have a HiFonics ZX6000 and when the sub is wired at 4 ohm, and the amplifier is wired for just one sub, it creates the following power outage: 1 x 600 Watts @ 4 Ohms. Now, since the specs for the amplifier don't specify, im assuming that it puts out 300W RMS X 1 @ 4 Ohms. Am I correct? If so, if I keep the gain at a moderate level then will it work out with this 12w3 D4 in a closed box? Thanks.

the Hifonics amplifier is a 2ch amplifier, but it can be used as a 1 ch for a sub.

1. in either case, thats more power than the sub will take. i know you can lower the gain, but i also know about you and too much power

2. i hope that you meant 600W at 2 ohms, not 4. if you wire in series, you should get 150W, which the sub could take. that might be the safest option for you
