problems with 801D

sorry to bug ppl. Can anyone shine light onthis situation, I got an MTX 801D on a deal and need to hook 1 12" sub to it(for space), should I just get 2 subs or can I run 1 DVC 12" with it. If so which one do you suggest?Again sorry if this has been covered, I searched but didn't see this exact predicament.

Get a JL 12W6v2 and run parrallel to get 2 ohms box size for W6s is considered on of the smallest @ 1.25 ft3, awsome subs for the money

You can hook almost anything to that amp if you do it right. The key features you want to pay attention to are ohms and the wiring.

First, heres a bunch of wiring tutorials:
JL Wiring Tutorials

That amp puts out either 800 rms @ 2 ohms OR 400rms @ 4 ohms.

So some combinations that would work:
* One 4 ohm sub, 400 rms
* One 2 ohm sub, 800 rms
* One DVC 4 ohm sub, wired in parallel to 2 ohms, 800 rms
* One DVC 2 ohm sub, wired in series to 4 ohms, 400 rms
* Two 4 ohm subs, wired in parallel to 2 ohms, 800 rms, 400 rms each
* Two 2 ohm subs, wired in series to 4 ohms, 400 rms, 200 rms each
* Two DVC 4 ohm subs, wired in parallel+series to 4 ohms, 400 rms, 200 rms each
* Two DVC 2 ohm subs, wired in parallel+series to 2 ohms, 800 rms, 400 rms each

Happy sub hunting ......

IF getting two subs get 2 JL Audio W3v2's. They won't disappoint.

I think 800 rms is probably too much power for a single 12" w3v2 ......

If your getting one 12, then get a DVC 2 ohm, wired in SERIES making 4 ohms, for 400 rms.

If your getting two 12's, get the DVC 2 ohm, wired in SERIES + PARALLEL for 2 ohms, giving 400 rms each.

Mystic can tell you more about how much power they should have.
