IMO Infinity Kappas...they sound great!!!!! However, I have not heard the Rockford Fanatics as of yet..heard they sound great!
I would have to say Infinity Kappa or the Polk Momo series. You might want to check fittement, sometimes the magnet is too big and you might need spacers.
But as mentioned above it does depend on what of music you tend to listen to.

well it's amix of rock metal but i also listen to hip hop rap and even some drumb and bass. I have subs so all i need is decent mid bass sound. what i'm looking for is clarity. A clean accurate sound, highs no to harsh when turned up (i really hate that).

I like the kappa's personally for their crisp highs, and they have a pretty good mibass driver. Next on my list would be the Alpine X's. I personally wouldn't go with either of those, but if I had to chose out of that list, those are the two I'd decide between.
the rockfords have awesome midbass. There is a potential issue, however. the midbass drivers are built much more beefy than the crossover or the tweeter. you shoudlnt have any problems with the crossover on the Q set, but at uber high volumes if you overtweak yoru amp you can blow a tweet.
not an issue if you buy them from where you get a warrantee.
I like those rockfords, and especailly for your kind of music, the rockfords or a set of earthquake focus components would be ideal. earthquakes are unblowable, more or less, but not on your list.
kappas are nice, but I fear they will not have the midbass you desire. talk to ludlam abotu hte kappa components, he has run them followed immediately by a set that was way midbass heavy, so he can offer you advice on how they compare to sets with too much midbass, as opposed to maybe not enough.
regardless of what you get, if you put the tweeters low or in the doors, it should help out a harsh sound (including the kappas)

I just got the Infinity 6002i(front)two-way speakers, 9630i(rear) 3way speakers from circuit city 2days ago, they were like 130 altogether(on sale right now) they sound alright with my stock hu, but i bet it'll sound much better with Alpine9833 deck
I will definately go with SPX speaker. They are much better than Type-R and all others, which I rank them as the same quality. I've been using Polk Momo, and several SPX's, now going along with SPX-F17T.

do a search for "earthquake car audio" on google, and you actually dont ever come up wiht the company website! its just online retailer after online retailer.
think beefy rockford fosgates with stronger highs with more presence, lower midbass at higher volumes, higher powerhandling and virtually unblowable, and all this with less slop than the fosgates. definitely the ideal speaker to use to play hardcore rock! and yet not so specialized that it wont do rap, R&B, D&B, trance (techno can get pretty awesome), mariachi music.... well, maybe not mariachi music.....

the only thing i'm a little weary about is that they're relatively new company and i havn't seen any reviews on them anywhere. nothing on www.carreview.com

you might then go out ot a shop and find out indeed, focal are some of the best speakers out there. so you buy the entry level focal access line speakers all around, and then wonder why your music sounds like crap.
but its focal, it has to be good, right? maybe not......

they got a bad reputation because SQ competitors said their class D amplifeirs werent SQ competition worthy. Word on the street is that EQ amps sound like poop.
now the whole company supposedly has pisspoor product, despite better performance than any pioneer, most alpine, most MTX, and damn near all sony and hifonics speakers, subwoofers, and amplifiers.
Funny how the internet bandwagon works, huh.

I just did some searching on the forum and realized that some speakers will not fit right, mostly the infinity kappa's. Does that mean I can't fit them in the doors or will i need spacers?
I've got the kappa's in the stock tweeter location and they can be harsh when i crank them pretty loud (they are ampped). They're awsome with acoustical guitars, trumpets, and some of the more delicate sounding instruments, but they do not do particularly well with rock. I've noticed that the high amount of deatil they provide often reveals sub-par recording on many of my favorite rock cd's (ie. mastering issues like clipping). They work well for rap since the heavy bass often overpowers the sound of the tweets. The midbass performance leaves a lot to be desired, but if you've got a good set of midbass drivers in the rear deck you'll probably have yourself a decent setup. Overall, they're a good purchase but be aware that they are not the most forgiving speakers around.
