JL High Output Enclosure ? Eclipse? RF?
I just listened to the JL HO210R-W3v2 enclosure or whatever it is. Its the one with 2 10 inch W3v2's and it sounded amazing. It shook the whole store and it was 100 watts underpowered. Plus the quality was great for a ported enclosure. It is also almost 1/2 as big as the 12 inch model. The only thing is, is it really worth the $465 that it's going to cost me?
Anyone else hear these? What do you think.
Right now im looking for 2 subs (or 1 awesome one) and a box for about $400 that will sound clear but shake the car next to me.
Would I be better off getting 2 eclipse subs, or kickers? No MTX, but what about the new RF Punch loaded enclosures? ( http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/ROCPL2212 ) For the same $$$ is the JL much better? What is still going to pound through the excessivley thick back seats us 7th gen owners have?

kicker 12L7's defiinitely have the capabilities you are looking for, with the most fudge factor of install.
but youll be pushing your ability to purchase a pair of 12's and a box with that budget.
the eclipses will most likely be the most difficult to install to be that loud.
punches shoudl be able to get yoru volume requirement easy enough, but your sound quality requirement will be a challenge.
in your position, with your choices, I would choose between a pair of 12L7's or a pair of w3v2s. what I would use to determine which I go with (the cost will be comparable) will be two factors:
#1 power. do you have enough power for a pair of 12L7's? they would like about 800 rms range of power to achieve high levels of spl. w3v2's should be at full tilt with 500 rms.
#2 warrantee and ease of install. the w3v2's will be bought authorized, or its implied it will be. 12L7's would have to be bought off ebay to conform to the budget, which may complexify the install, not to mention (god forbid) if the worst happens, you may be stuck with no warrantee.

My amp right now is 460rms @ 4 ohms. (Kenwood KAC-7201) Good amp. But i don't think the civic alternator can handle more than the 500 (JL 500/1 much later down the line) i might upgrade to. Also the W3v2's should be alot lighter right?
If i buy JL, yes the place is authorized so 2 year warranty, because its with the enclosure.
And lastly i can push out up to $475 no more though.

Out of your available choices, I would go with the W3v2's.

Yeah i kinda look at W0's as the poor mans JL sub; no offense. It must just be the fact that the W0's still have the awesomely ugly old JL sub look. I'd pay a little more just for the 2 W3v2s in a hot looking enclosure, which seems to me as the best choice right now.
get two 15" comp vr's. Or two 12's and put about a 1000 watts on them in a ported enclosure, this is my plan for the summer or get one 15l7 in a large ported enclosure on a 1000 watts. This is my problem right now, 2 15" comp vr's ported or 1 15l7 in a ported enclosure? i think either will shake cars next to you
I've got a 500/1 and a 300/2 going to 1 8w7 in a ported box and the alpine SPX177 up front. The head lights dim a bit even with a full cap on the system. I have plenty of clean bass. I have an extra 8w7 to sell and I plan on selling my 500/1 and 300/2 to get a 500/5 cause that is all I really need for my set up. If you want to shake your's and other cars I would look into getting 2 12w6 with a 1000/1 or go with a 10 or 12w7 in the HO box. I personally like having the 8w7 in a ported box cause it takes up a fraction of the space and kicks but for me! I can raise attention but I don't have to raise attention to people that may want my system more! Most people think I have 2 tens in the back.

JL amps and W6v2's and W7's are super expensive though. I've got a decent 4 ohm amp now so i want to keep it with the new subs for a while. plus there is no way im putting 2 huge heavy subs in my trunk. Im looking for small, light, but extremley powerful, which i believe would = HO210R-W3V2 (High Output Wedge 2x10" W3v2's)
i boogie for the raindrops

i think that there might be something wrong with my stock alt, i had a crossfire vr1000d on it and it would turn the amp off (low voltage) so im thinking that maybe i have a defective alternator...hmm...damn im glad i still have like 3500 left on my warranty!

its crystal clear but hits hard and low. right now im only giving it 460 watts rms and i doubt my amp is even pushing that. It a kenwood KAC-7201. awesome amp for under $200 no doubt, but these subs need at least 500 rms; true 500 rms (i.e. JL 500/1). Im also looking into crossfire or distinct audio, which is a promising company under crossfire that is still getting up and running. A Distinct Audio amp, since no one heard of them yet, is basically a crossfire amp stripped of all the useless competition level crap, like crossovers on pre amp outs.
