Radar Detector wiring

i really dont like it plugged into my cigrette lighter so i wanted to know if you could wire it so that it can still work and the wire will be hid. thanks.

You could tap into the cig lighter wire... I wouldn't recommend using the outlet if the radar detector is on though. Or just run a new line from your fuse box.

what about the ground or is there not one?

If you tap into the cig lighter you can just use that ground, or make your own. Just find a good spot, take a little sandpaper to the paint. I usually use star washers also, but you don't have to I guess. The radar dector will have 2 wires inside that wrap, of course most likely black and red. Just match color to color.

But yea, the cig lighter has a ground of course.

i tapped it on top of my rearview mirror.. where the light is.. just hook it up to the light... on top of the rearview mirror.
