The best radar detector out there is your eyeballs. Start paying less attention to your speedo and more attention to whats going on around you.

See my post "Avoiding speeding tickets with Ernie's House of Whoopass" for a better long article. To Sum up, be more alert as to why people are doing what they are doing. Hmm, why did everyone brake all the sudden... why are people flashing their hi-beams at me? why is that crown vic sitting on the overpass watching people...

I've got a bel 980, its a couple years old, I think the new bel they have is the 985, but I'd recommend bel nonetheless, I love my radar detector, never been pulled over

In my experience, a radar detector is NOT going to help you in situations like this. A radar detector works by picking up the radar that bounced the wrong way when the cop fired. If there are no cars in front of you, the cop is not firing his radar, and thus you won't detect any radar until you get hit. Which, of course, is too late.

K40 has a guarantee, if you get a ticket after installing one of their detectors, they pay for your ticket.

I dont think ANY of these other detectors have a feature that can top THAT one!

yeah but that guarentee only applies up to a certain percentage above the speed limit, no one is going to endorse traveling 115 on a public road
