speaker level inputs

Hello,
I am installing subs and an amp in my civic. I have the stock headunit. My amp has speaker level inputs. My question is what kind of wire do I use to tap the rear speakers for signal, and how to i secure into the speaker level inputs? (see link)
Thanks, Ben

i would use a line level converter...will convert speaker wire output to rca's...can easily be mounted in the rear of your car

If you choose to use the speaker level inputs, you'll need to crimp or solder wiring to each of the speaker outs on the Aftermarket wiring harness (RF, LF, RR, LR) and then run them to your amp.

don't even need to get the speaker outs of the wire harness of the head unit...just tap into the speaker wires for your rears, then you don't have to buy such a long rca cord if you have the amp in your trunk.

If I understand his scenario - he has to run 4 wires (one per speaker) from his aftermarket wiring harness to the speaker level inputs on the amp.

He then can connect to the rear factory wiring for his rear outs, but he'd still have to run wiring for his front speakers. If he wants to revert back to stock in case he ever decides to sell the vehicle, it's smartest to run new wiring all around.

nah...the converters only ask for a pair of inputs, just 2 speaker inputs...usually done to the rear speakers.

if he converts - he uses the RCA inputs. If he only connects one pair of speakers to the inputs, he will only get power to two speakers. I'm not understanding how you see him powering the other two. the same scenario applies....

hehe maybe we're misunderstanding each other...in order to use the line converter you just have to tap into a set of speakers, whether it be front, back, left or right set...i'm just trying to make it easier for him to tap into the rear speakers, especially if he's putting the amp in the trunk...he'll still get power to all 4 speakers from the head unit...i'm guessing he's trying to get signal to his amp for a sub(s)?

Wow. So why are you using a 4 channel amp to power your subs? anyway to answer your question, you just need to get 2 pieces of speaker wire and attach them to the leads for the rear speakers. To attach the speaker wires to the factory wires use t-taps, scotchlox, or strip back some the insulation on the wires and twist the new speaker wire to each wire, then solder and tape each connection. then attach them to the harness that came with the amp and plug it into the amp. then flip the switch on the amp to the 2ch setting and you are set for the signal wires. there is no need to get an rca adapter the amp has it built in. using an rca adapter just makes you spend an extra $30 for no reason.

i tried hooking up a sub to the stock deck before and it sounded like shiet so i took it out and haven't tried again...

it was not out of phase but just sounded like crap...some frequencies sounded as though it was amplified way more than others....

One the worlds most easest amplifiers to add to a factory head unit. One main thing that you guys missed is the fact that this amp won't need a remote in when connecting the high level input. The biggest part about that is that it won't create a turn on/ turn off pop.

If the install is done like vicn77 suggests then the popping will occur and you'll end up spending money on something is really unnecessary.
