First dB Drag today
I did my first dB Drag today and I feel the need to gloat, so here goes:
Hit a 141.1 in qualifying, ended up being the highest score in Street A overall
Got 2 no shows in a row, so I did nothing more until the final round, only did 2 burps total.
Did 138.something in the final round, losing first place to a buddy from my car club who did 140.0.
I think the reason for the loss in points was that I was sharing the CD with my buddy who took 1st, and had to give it to him for finals and borrow somebody elses.
I could be wrong, but that's my best guess.

I am running 2 Phoenix Gold Ti 10's off of a Rockford 1001BD with a 1 farad cap.
Box is 3.0 cubes tuned to 33 hz, I burped it at 42-52, had my peak around 44-45.
Everything is pretty much stock, no dynamat, stock battery, no fancy stuff, I even only have a cheap set of RCA's.
My buddy who won had a similar setup, he has a concept 1200d pushing an elemental e12a. His high for the day was 140.3 but he took me in finals with an even 140 to my 138.

raise your port tuning....i did 142.6 in the trunk of a 99 mustang with one 12 tuned to 44hz...try making the port shorter....what you need is more mic time
nice job...hopefully you wont make it all the way to world finals and lose by a lane.
im not bitter or anything.

I sense no bitterness at all
lease:
I should maybe raise my port tuning, I already know that much. I am thinking 50-52 hz.
I was also thinking about burping lower. I got my peaks on my first burps which were the lowest, and I started at the lowest and worked my way up without going lower.
I might start designing a box with removable port design to help me with my SPL... I definitely got some good ideas today.

im lookin at a probable mid 140's when i get my woofer installed... and 50-52 hz might be too high to tune. try low 40's first, then try more
but
remember, never burp below your tuning frequency, thats asking for kaboom

I say 52 because my buddy is tuned to 52 hz running PG ti 15's and he's in the 160's.
Won't get those kind of results obviously, but I might try 52
But most likely I will make a removable port design anyway.

unless your buddy has the exact same car it wont matter what he burps at
you need to find either your quarter wave or half wave and build the biggest box with the most port area you can and tune around 10 hz below you quarter or half wave then start to cut the port down and test test test test.
