I've got a orlando cd72 with infinity 6.5s up front and ultimate 6x9s in the rear with a infinity 12 in the back run off a 500w crunch amp and whenever the headunit gets hot the cd player won't work, it just makes a loud popping noise every time i turn the volume up or down, i tried mounting a 92mm fan on it and it didn't help, any ideas?
That sounds like a problem that, if it is fixable, would have to be sent out to a repair shop such as United Radio, which will cost around $100, and since your HU is only worth around $150 that doesnt sound like a good plan. So, buy a new HU.

Well obviously it's getting too hot. Sounds like a manufacture defect, but try a bigger fan or something. Open it up and see what's going on in there.

what i'm thinkin is that i have no external amp for my speakers, only my sub so i'm overdriving the outputs makin them shut down, the only thing is that is still works in tuner mode, but still thats what i gut tells me, plus i've been waiting for an excuse to by an amp for my speakers, so heres a good one
i have to agree with Mystic3030, it does sound like you do need a new HU it really should not be getting hot, unless your playing for hours and dont give it a break. Just bite the bullet and buy a new HU.
