Angry giving up security for fun???

Okay guys, I really need your help on this. I have a 1997 Civic EX. Really nice car, love
it to death.. It comes with a stock security system and a stock cd player unit. Here's my problem:
The security unit is hooked up to the CD player controller in which if you want to set up the remote unit (keyless entry) you have to go through that controller..
The other day my friends and I tried to install an after-market MP3 and CD player in. Everything went smoothly, BUT my security alarm won't work (not without the stock CD controller unit) AND the interior light doesn't work either when I opened the door after we put in the MP3.
I went to the dealer and they told me that more troubles will pop up if I don't put the stock CD controller unit. back in. I listened to them and put the stock unit in.
My friends told me that if I want an after-market player I have to give up the security system and if i want the security system I have to stick with the ugly stock cd player....
Help me guys.... How can I install my beutiful mp3 player without sacrifying the security and the interior light???????????

I beleive Metra makes a wiring harness that lets you drop your stock CD unit back into the dash somewhere, and hook the new headunit up in the stock location. That lets you use the new HU for playing music, and the stock one is hidden back inside the dash and getting power so your remote entry and such works.
