I just finished putting in the order to Crutchfield for the Sony Xplod cdx-m800 cd receiver. Does anyone have/had this unit? Its for my GF for her birthday next week. I'll be installing it with some friends. It looks like a good unit. She has a 94 accord sedan. Thanks.

ya i have it in my car....i love it i mean it's unique in it's own way....i also have last years model of that version as well....sounds good....both sound good....if u wanna see pics juss tell me....i'll post up later.....

I've always had good experiences with sony. I just bought my first motorized face. Just wanted to know how other people like the model. I was still going to get it anyways.

i got that head unit.I like it. sounds way better than stock. i mean i know itz not the best thing out there, but it does its job. Like he said, it's unique in it's own way.

My chick loves it, the gurls get a kick outta the little flipping thing that it does, i'm sure ur gurl will like it.

As mentioned above sony hu are not the greatest, granted some models look pretty cool. Such as the one above, however I find Clarion and their Pro Audio line to be pretty decent, they do not have the flashy animations though. Just a decent all around headunit.

I think I'm a sony person. I love the look of the sonys. Thanks pLaYa6tNine. I appreate it very much. Its a surprise for her. Her one now is a pos. Doesnt play cd's right. You can just change from track to track, you have to fastforward to get to the next sony. I dont know the brand, but it is a very cheap model.

a guy that works with audio equiptment told me that as a rule, japaneese sound equiptment is not as good as american equitpment. the style may be nice and fance n more high tech, but the sound quality is way better from an american company. like alpine, pioneer, kicker, etc. i dont care i like my sony for what it does for the money. and it beats the stock head unit any day. it also beats a lot of other after market head units out there to, but of course, there are ones that are wayyyyy better.
i want the alpine tv thing. thatz the hottest thing i've ever seen. just to much $$$.
