Air leak question...

I want to preface my dumb question by saying thank you to all of the knowledgable audio people on this board. i would not dare ask some of the questions I ask here on other audio forums because I feel comfortable here...anywayz, here is my dumb question:

If 7 of my sub screws are real tight, and the 8th one is not tight becase the thread on the wood is no more, could this be cause for a noticable air leak? If I use size 8 screws, should I just use a size 10 screw in that hole to make new thread and hold the sub better?

LudlamTheory is an unknown quantity at this point
fun idea for you:

take the dead hole, stuff it with wooden matchsticks and wood putty, and let it dry...
