could this be the problem?
im reading in my little kicker book here and it says that the dual 4 ohm woofer will give a 2 or 8 ohm load, depending on how there wired... and the dual 2 ohm will give a 1 or a 4 ohm load depending on wiring, whatever, so i have the dual 4 ohm woofers wired at 1 ohm... could this be the reason why it sounds like crap? should have the dual 2 ohm instead? also i have blown 3 of these woofers in less than a year. twice ive fried 2 of the 4 wires that are come from the voice coils i believe, and another time the yellow wavey thingy under the cone cracked. could that play into this?

How do you wire a dual-4 ohm sub to 1 ohm?
You might even not have enough power for those subs, depending on how strong your electrical system is.
On a stock alternator and stock battery, especially with improper wiring, that amp would not be producing anywhere near enough to make those Kickers happy. A 1200.1 is a really nice choice of amp for that pair, but they've gotta have the power to back it up.
