which speakers
which speakers
I just reinstalled my system today, except for my front and rear speakers. I was running polk's db series, which were good, but I wasnt that happy with them. I want something that has a full range and is clearer. All the stores that are around me sell crappy speakers, and the better stores mainly carry mb quart. So its hard for me to hear different kinds of speakers.
I was thinking about the following
mb quart rce216
pioneer ts c160r
diamond m661
What do you think would be the best choice, or do you have any suggestions. Also is it easy to run wires through the doors in our cars? I remember working on a 99 and it was a pain in the A$$.
Also I was reading that with components its better if the tweeter is closer to the woofer, and if they are further than 8 inches apart it is less desireable. How true is this, because i would be mounting in the stock locations. Would it be better to use coaxials with a crossover instead. The mbquart rce 216 are components/coaxials so the tweeter can be mounted on the woofer. Would that be a better setup? Also jl xr650 cxi comes with a crossover.
Thanks

IMO the Pioneers aren't in the same class as the other two.
I have heard that about the tweeters too. I dunno how true it is but I would think it is true. I have the Diamond M6 6.5" components in my Civic. When I got them I thought they were great. They were the best I had ever had in a vehicle. Then I got my truck and got the JL XR 5x7 coaxials w/ the crossover. I like them more than the Diamonds. They seem more laid back. Them sounding better might have to do w/ the tweeter being close to the woofer too.
I would love to try the JL XR650 CXI's in the Civic.

I was able to hear the mb quarts and the jl's today, and i like the jls better. I think I may go with the jls, but again do you think i should get the coaxial or the component version of the xr650? Also how much power should i feed them, i was thinking of a rockford 401s which i believe can do 100 watts rms per channel at 4ohms
