Bazooka Bass Tubes (Opinions)
Is there anyone who has these? I want to add some low end to my stock stereo/speaker setup, but don't want to invest a lot of money into it. ($250 or less, installed) I am not looking for a mind shattering thump, but something to fill out the low end of the stock setup. Let me know your opinions.
I have been looking at the 6'' and 8'' self-amplified versions.
Thanks.

I had a Pyle 8" tube for close to four years - they are nice for a situation where you don't want to install a seperate amp or don't have room for a box. The only negative aspect to mine was that it didn't have a remote lead - supposedly it was able to sense when the car was turned off and power itself down accordingly. Unfortunately the last two years I had it I killed two batteries before realizing it was the culprit.
If you get one, make sure it has a remote lead.

I used to have a Bazooka RS-604 (non-amped); it was pretty good...I didn't really need a huge bass response, either. When I got my new amp, I gave the Bazooka and my old amp to my nephew. He really likes it.
I don't know much about the self-amped models, though. I've seen posts here that said they kinda sucked.

I have a Rampage sub tube that I bought on price slashed discount at Target for $40. It's good enough for me. I'm not an audio fanatic. Plus I don't want to have to get a new HU and all that shebang just to be able to use a custom sub and amp. PLUS.... I'll lose like $40 if thieves REALLY want it, instead of losing like $500 for a custom sound system.
From what I heard install is key w/ those. Directions say aim them at the taillights. I had head their demo vehicle had them aligned w/ the shock of the car and it made it sound really sweet. Of course all this was when I was 17 so who knows, I was easily impressed.

they alright. Buddy of mine had one is his DelSol. Works if you're not into alot of bass. But if you try to turn it up, be prepared to hear the crappiest bass eva.

Bad move. you can't biuy car audio at target! The target here carries cheap sub boxes, and "road gear" type brands of car audio, as well as bazooka tubes, so they do indeed carry car audio.
As far as the tubes, my friend has a bazooka 6" powered tube, and it sounds decent, it does just what you want, fills out the low end.
