Buy a Amp Kit! What type of amp is it? I say mount it on your back seat....the bigger back seat.
edit: when i say backseat i mean rear seat back seat when you fold it down.

Ricer: What head unit do you have? Does the head unit have any RCA pre amplified outputs? What kind of amp? How many channels does it support? Does the amp accept only RCA inputs or will it accept speaker inputs? Hopefully he gives you the manual, as it should detail your connection options.
Assuming a 2 or 4 channel amp with RCA inputs you will need:
Amplifier installation kit - this should include 3 wires and a fuse - these will connect to your car's battery (power), the vehicle chassis (ground) and the last wire will connect to a remote lead from the head unit's wiring harness. The fuse installs inline with the power near your vehicle battery (this protects it in case of a short). The kit may include RCA cables, these connect to the outputs of your deck and then the inputs on the amp. If the kit does not include RCA's you will need to purchase one or two pairs (1 per each pair of channels the amp supports). Don't skimp on this, get a good brand of cable.
Speaker wire - Get a 25 foot spool of decent speaker wire, you will need to run it from each door speaker and the rear speakers to whereever your amp will install.
You'll need a tool for wire stripping, screwdrivers, and possibly a set of allen wrenches as well.
The backside of your seat is probably the best spot to install it, this minimizes the amount of space used and allows most of the wiring to be hidden.
