I have stock stereo in my coupe currently. I want to listen to mp3. I am pretty much a noob to
stereo selection out there. I don't know what is good and what is bad. And what fits and what don't.
I'm planning to get(all pioneer):
DEH-P7600MP, In-Dash CD/MP3/WMA/WAV Receiver with Organic EL Display
TS-A6980R, 6" x 9" 4-Way Speaker, 350 Watts Max. Power
TS-A1680R, 6-1/2" 4-Way Speaker, 220 Watts Max. Power
I don't plan to get any amp or subwoofers. I road race my car, so no extra stuff.
I'm just looking to get something that looks nice in my black interior and something that
gives loud clear sound with sufficent bass. I'm not looking for something that gives crazy bass
that shakes my car. Just something that I can feel a bit when i listen to rock.
thanks

IMO all that 4-way crap is overrated. A nice 2-way set is just fine.
Those 6x9's have big magnets that will scrape on the trunk torsion bars. Do a search to see what models fit .... there aren't many.
The deck is great. I have the comparable one from a couple revisions back (DEH-P7400MP).

Actually mayn, that setup is GREAT!!!
Well its great for what you are looking for. I have the same setup minus the rear speakers. The 7600MP is the *hit. WHen you first load mp3 or wma cd's in it though it reads a lil slow, prolly about 8 secs, but after that its good. It has a lot of sound control options and it has yet skip on me... I say go that way.

Yeah those speakers might be kinda big as far as the magnet goes. For the 4-ways in front you wil have to use a spacer and might have troubles getting the door panel to fit correctly because the tweeter sticks out so far.
Pretty much any MP3 ready deck is good EXCEPT the Sony's! I put an MP3 disc in the new Sony models and it took forever to read the disc. After like a minute of it "loading" i popped out the disc and lableled the Sony's as crap.
