Pleeze help.... Stupid NooB...
Ok.... At the risk of being flamed off my ***, I seriously need some help. I gots me a 2001 EX, and I'm trying to install a sub n amp to my stock HU. I know that this cannot be done cuz of the RCA or lack of RCA connectors on the HU. I'm short on cash so I can't just go out and buy a new HU and looking for something can plug directly into my HU. I saw the Hon-Aux but that is just for input. Is there something similar to this that I can connect my amp to.
Oh yeah, once I do happen to find and connect this, where in the hell does the remote line connect to??? Please please please help.... I have had my amp and sub sitting in my garage waiting for my uncle to help for the past 2 months.... I want to finish it by this weekend... All wiring through my civic is done. I just need to make the final connection, and I don't know a damn thing about car stereos....
Thanx 4 da help....

I've read about something that converts the speaker level inputs from the stock deck to RCA plugs that go to the amp. Or if your amp has speaker level inputs, thet would work also. Remote wire connects from the deck to the amp. This is so the amp turns on when the deck does. You need to have a wire diagram to find which wire.
I read somewhere that you should tap the cigarette lighter wire for remote and hook it to your amp.

the part they are referring to is called a LOC or line output converter, you can pick one up from radio shack usually. Not sure of the price never purchased one...i belive they should be around $20.
Do a search of LOC or line output converter, you should find the info you are looking for.

Cool cool.... So once I find this part, how do I install it, I know I remove the stereo right, but do I have to tap into the speaker line coming from the HU, or does it plug into a location on my HU itself???

Actually I believ it is a Line LEVEL Converter, not a Line Output Converter, although I could be mistaken.
You can install it in your trunk if you wish, tapping off your rear speaker wires.
This will save you the trouble of removing your HU at all and having to run a bunch of cable.

If your amp has high level inputs, then that already is a LOC. Otherwise you can get a LOC that converts deck power into a low-level input for the amplifier.
As far as the remote wire, the cig lighter up front is switched w/ the car ignition. Tie into that should work just fine.

OK.... Sorry to ask so many questions, but I want to try to know all I can before I pull my HU and *** sumthin up... Are there pre-existing wires that I tap, or do I have to splice the current speaker lines to connect them to the converter. Andif it is a single channel amp, do I only connect the rear speaker line to my sub, or do I connect both the front and rear outputs to the sub????

I hate that converter. Thats the worst one i've ever used. I would seriously return that and go grab one with prewired pigtails on it. The wires pull out of that one extremly easy.
