umm yeah like the topic says, im kinda hoping that someone as heard them because they are kind of interesting looking to me and i know focals awesome so i hope that someone has heard them.

i heard an older focal sub, i think it was an 11" (focal has some wierd sizes). i dont remember how many watts it was running, but it was in a sealed box. it was at my local shop, a customer was getting an HU put it and i noticed the sub, we talked about it a bit and when the HU was installed, i heard the sub. it wasnt the loudest thing, but it did sound nice, at normal listening volumes it was great.

My friend has four Focal PolyK 11's, and I hate them. At low volumes they sound alright, but a bit flat...not warm at all, and not very transparent. At high volumes they sound bad IMO, distorted and not nearly as loud as they could be. The subs are in a ported box built to Focal specs. You could do a lot better for what they cost.

^^agree you could do alot better for the cost. a friend of mine had a complete focal system (subs, mid's, tweets ) but the subs weren't what i would expect for the price tag. i liked my soundstream mules better. imo

i think it was tuning that ruined these woofers, I got to hear one in a demoboard with some utopias comparing them to kodas, and it was awesome. very accurate and accoustically transparent. added a wonderful warm sound to the components, and rounded out the system very nicely. not to mention loud for a demobard subwoofer!

the one in the demoboard was 13" in size, with a grey cone, ill see if i cant find out if it was a kevlar or the utopia
