Splicing cigarette lighter

Hey peeps!!

I am considerably new and have a few DIY's under my belt... and am looking for more. I want to know how do I splice my cigarette lighter.(have no clue) It would really help if you are really specific. I don't how to do it and I don't know what I need.

I'm not sure, but there should be one power and one ground wire leading to it. Don't know which is which. You could probably tell with a multimeter.

blak is ground so the other is power and just buy a tap in where u put one wire in it and tap into the other 12 volt from the cigarrette wire. u can find them at any place that sells electronic stuff like radio shack or something. i think they are called a tap in or something but im not sure u will see them though cuz it will have space fro two wires and have a metal piece in teh middle and have this like cover thing over it. also they have it at home depot definately.

Yeah just go get some "wire taps" They are blue and sell for about 2 bucks for a set of 10. Radio shack sells them and they are very handy for various electrical projects.
