Eclipse decks rock!!!...
just had to say how nice eclipse decks are, after ordering my 8053 months ago, it finally arrived today.
this deck has so many more sound adjustments compared to my clarion 835mp, but even with everything flat (right out of the box) it made a difference in the way my music sounds (positive difference). i'm gonna look over the manual and fool around with this deck in the morning.
i also connected my D7 amp up this afternoon, WOW, the 150watts x 2 over the 75watts x 2 was a major difference. my front stage is finally coming together, once i have everything installed properly, i probably wont be messing with it for a while.
it was like christmas for me today, i had a smile on my face all afternoon.

Rep Power: 0 congrats on your new deck. I got the eclipse 8443 back in july, i think it's great. Only diff in the 8053 and the 8443 is you can use the line converter for unbalanced 16volt pre-outs, are you planning on running them in the future?
I'm sort of kicking myself though because i didn't wait for this yrs top models, they have mp3 capability, last yrs top units you need the eclipse commander advance for mp3 capabilites....even without though i still enjoy being able to have all of my burnded cd's play perfectly, my old eclipse 5303R didn't like burned CD's, it would skip through the first few tracks and only not skip after the later tracks. Pretty much the only reason i haven't tried to sell it, not going to sell a deck for any price unless i can find someone who doesn't own burned Cd's (not very likely)

Rep Power: 317 i dunno about the balanced outputs, dont i need an amp that accepts balanced inputs? my D7 amp can accept upto 12volt signal, so it might be nice to be able to use the 16volts over the 8volts, but for now its fine.
i was thinking about new 8454, its pretty cool, its like a 8443, but plays mp3's, and has this cool feature where you input a memory stick into the unit, and use the supplied mic to get readings from inside of your car. the unit then puts this info onto the card, and you can take that card, insert it into a reader, transfer the info onto your computer, and then upload the data to eclipse. eclipse will then analyze it, and give you the perfect EQ settings for your car, and i think time alignment settings to. you can put the data back onto the card, insert it into the unit, and then the 8454 goes from there, quite cool (a little complicated). its not available until may or so, so i'll wait to see this unit to see if its something i'm interested in.
my friend might get the e comm, i'll see if its worth it if he does, but i plan on getting sirius satelite, so that might be my mp3 replacement.

Rep Power: 317 i'm gonna see it in action before i decide its something i want to do, cause i think its cool to.
but if i like sirius a lot, i'll probably do away with mp3's, its too hard to decide though, too hard.
