Does anyone know how to take the cig lighter out of the dash piece? I want to paint the piece holding it but i cant seem to pull out the cig lighter....

i have a 2001, haha im just afraid i might break something and thought maybe there was some more "graceful" way to get it out.

you have a 2001? Put your hand into that slot under the cig lighter, palm facing up, spread your fingers and press your hand against the plastic, and just pull! you wont break it, but if you do, the part is only like $15.

yeah the cig. lighter was a bitch to get out.

1.Lay the plastic cover on a level surface...
2. push down with a hand to keep it from moving or slipping...
3. grab a panel puller tool and wedge it underneath the cig lighter..
4. just pry it apart..it's on there good but put some muscle in it and it should pop out.. nothing is gonna break.

Yeah, just pry it from the sides with a screwdriver. Carefully, so you don't get marks all over like I did.
