One of these fine days, I'll scan in some pictures of a couple installs I did but for right now, I don't have anything.
First off.. just out of curiousity, how are you going to do it for show if you don't want to spend a lot of money? You're not going to win very many trophies without spending some cash first.
Ok, now that I got that out of my system...
How badly do you want performance out of them? Are they Infinity Kappas or Perfects? If you JUST want show, you can come up with some pretty crazy ideas with a cool 'glass enclosure.. that way, you don't have to mess around with the enclosure volume. Otherwise if you want a ton of sound out of them, it'll be a little tougher. How many amps will you have? Well, for that matter, are you going to have them in the trunk or in the backseat?
As for the 'glass enclosure, I think something spherical would be cool.. maybe have two mounted forward and two mounted reverse. ahhh the possibilities. yeahhh.. that'd be sweet.
Have the g'lass tub in the middle of the trunk with two amp racks: one on each side.. throw in some plexiglass (lexan is cheaper) and some neons.. maybe some aluminum, you'd have yourself a pretty sweet setup

custom show for cheap = loooooots of hours spent. fiberglassing is the way to go in my opinion. you can get an AWESOME finished look if you have the patience and time. plus its super duper cheap and not too too hard.

darklegacy540: well about the money thing i meant i dont want to throw down a **** load of money, i will spend a lot im sure but i wana do something reasonable...

they are the infinity reference, i want to go with a more showy setup than sound, since i have four of them im sure it will stil be loud as hell. i will be running 2 planet audio 1200W amps. if possible i would love to be able to use the spare tire since this car is still gona be a daily driver. and the setup will be in the trunk..

a daily driver? so does the trunk have to be usable? If so, then that limits you A LOT! Im doing a custom enclosure for my JL 15w0 soon, and the problem is that I have crap in my trunk 24/7.

maybe 2 facing the cabin, mounted traditionally, with the other two facing the rear of the car, mounted inverted. this way if you do use the trunk, crap won't hit the woofer cone and damage anything, plus you get some variety. don't go half ***, do it all 'glass

take your time and mold yourself a box with fiberglass., whatever you do, don't expect this to be done over night, hours and hours of sanding is required to get that mirror like finish, but when its all finished, the compliments will pay off.

thanks for the pic player. i think ill do somethin like that except make mine point down in the center instead of up, giving it a more of a "bowl" look, and then maybe mount the amps to the back of the seat on in the middle of the "bowl".

yah thats a pretty clean install, the carpet makes it look cheap though. if u do that idea, make sure to fiberglass and put madddd coats of clear on your box to make that DEEP look!! throw a bubble light in the truck, too!

my vote is for the false floor install. easiest to accomplish, takes the least amount of physical space, and for that "clean" look, it simply cant be beat with a stick!

and the best part of the false floor install, is that if constrains a designer just enough to be REAL creative with it yet at the same time constrain enough so that its not too off the wall or complex!

I say go with the firs tpic, except do a new twist on it to make it just that extra bit of show. keep the carpet unless you want to refinish yoru entire trunk, and put some curves in it!
