i recently took out my audio system because i wanted some other things but i cant stand not having some bump....so im putting it all back together again and need some help...before i had 2 12" w3s and a 500/1 jl amp...sounded awesome and i loved it but i sold the amp and the subs....i bought another set of the same subs but now im looking for an amp and im trying to decide between jl and memphis...i know the 500 watt jl sounds really good with these subs but what about memphis...i could get an amp for a lot cheaper this way....is a 500 watt memphis amp good enough....any thoughts or ideas?

i like hte class d memphis amps! those small looking ones...those mothers psuh!!! but yea i'm getting all memphis for my new setup.

Memphis audio is a great product, I have always used RF amps but when i heard the Memphis class D amps i was blown away from the quality of sould that it produces. I am using the 1000d and have no problems what so ever. It doesn NOT get hot even ran at 2 ohms for 4 hours (recent trip to cali proved this). Only problems with memphis is, if you ever F*** it up you will pay a **** load of cash to get it fixed.

memphis is more of an SPL brand, JL is more of a SQ brand, what are you looking for?

I have a memphis 12" sub and those **** HIT!! So im pretty sure their amps are pretty good too.

memphis wont come close to JL audio in sound quality, if u want all out loud , go with memphis. memphis wont be as clean a sound as jl though. If u got an umlimited ammount of cash go with the ST1500d memphis amp along with a JL w7 or two

nah i think w7s would be a bit much for my civic....but i do want good sound quality....any other comments on the sound quality of memphis?

i have 2 12" JL w3's and was wonderin how do i wire a mono amp like the JL 500/1 to my speakers...i dont have any experience in hookin up a mono amp to 2 speakers....and how many watts from the amp would be goin into each speaker...sorry...i just want to know kuz i am gettin an amp soon and may want to get a JL amp.....

What? What memphis amps have you used? st series a/b or st series class D? These were designed for sound quality, not SPL

st1500d. Good Powerful amp. Not as clean as a JL audio amp or PPI. Thats why I said that. St1500d is going to be cheaper than a JL audio 1000.1, same with Precision Power. Memphis is cheaper in price
