0G Power Wire?
Hey everyone, I decided that since I already have a great box for my JL 12w3v2 that I built, I don't want to buy another 12w3v2 and have to build another ported box to accomodate it. I still want to fix up my system and customize it. Heres the thing, my two amplifiers, Alpine M300 and HiFonics ZX6000 are connected with a 4G Power wire and 8G power wire. I am planning on removing the amplifiers from the back of my back seats and build a custom trunk bottom with boxes beneath it to put the amplifiers and put some clear covering over the amplifiers to make them viewable. I want to have one power wire though to run all the way to the back and then get a fuse terminal to split the power among the amplifiers. Will a 0AWG wire bring enough power to run my two amplifiers?

you wont need 1/0 gauge under any circumstances till you break the 1.5ish kilowatt range at least, if not more. to go even farther. I have an amplifier sitting in my garage that will do 1600 watts rms without breaking a sweat (whiterabbit will back me on that fact) and it only accepts 4 gauge
Yup, or you could get 2 AWG if you wanted to split a couple 4 AWG lines. It's really just about how you want it to look
I like the way big fat cables look, so I ran 0AWG into a fused distro block with a plexi window and status lights and all that stuff.

I use 4 guage to a distro block with 2 4 gauges coming out of the block...my amps are right behind my back seat and they hardley ever get warm...never hot, and never have shut-off. I think my amps are rated 1500 watts RMS.

Im guessing that since my HiFonics Amp is rated at 150W RMSx2 and my Alpine is rated at 300W RMSx1 that I can just use the existing 4G wire to easily power both with a distribution block then.

use either 4 or 8 gauge from the dist. block.
